About Yumin
Dear potential Homestay hosts,
I hope this message finds you well!
My name is Yumin Lee (21), a 3rd-year Biotechnology student at Chonnam National University in South Korea.
Recently, a friend from my university and I were accepted into the short-term exchange program at RMIT University in Melbourne for early next year.
While our study period at RMIT runs from January 5 to February 5, 2027, we plan to arrive in Melbourne a few days early on December 30, 2026, to adjust to the environment and explore the city before classes begin.
Therefore, I am looking for a welcoming homestay for 1-2 female students from December 30, 2026, to February 5, 2027 (around 5–6 weeks).
We chose to search for a homestay independently because we wanted to find an authentic Australian family experience where we could review the details ourselves and ensure my friend and I could stay together.
Our weekly budget is AUD $300 – $350 per person.(meals: not necessary!)
In fact, I have cousins who have lived in Australia for a long time, so I have always felt a deep connection to and familiarity with Australian culture. Furthermore, as I dream of working in Melbourne or pursuing my master’s degree at RMIT after graduation, we are not just looking for a temporary place to sleep. We are truly hoping to find a host who can be an active mentor, guide us through local experiences, and build a meaningful, long-lasting relationship with us even after our program ends!
If possible, we would be so honored to be your "homestay daughters"! We promise to fully respect your home, culture, and house rules, and maintain a neat, polite, and responsible lifestyle during our stay.
If you have availability for 1-2 female students (either single rooms or a shared twin room) for our dates, please feel free to reach out with your room details and location.
Thank you so much for your time and consideration, and we look forward to hearing from you!
