Homestay in Essendon

Entire home available for student or students or workers. Please note, this is not strictly a home stay as I will not be living at the premises. There is one bedroom and a study that could be a second bedroom. It is fully furnished and would suit a couple or someone who wants a more independent arrangement. The following bills: (internet, water and electricity) are included. This is a good deal; as a student myself (Juris Doctor) I know how difficult finding good accommodations can be in Melbourne and want to help. PRICE INCLUDES ALL BILLS, INCLUDING INTERNET!

Please be sure to look at Strathmore station and see how far it is from your university - the apartment is almost directly across the road from this station - it is a three minute walk. There is a cafe and a gym across the road, as well as a fish and chip shop, chemist, post office and small grocer on the other side of the train station - so less than five minutes walk. However, the main hub of shops is a five minute train journey (either Essendon station or Moonee Ponds). These are both fantastic areas where there are lots of great bars, cafes, restaurants and shops. There is also a car space if that is something you’d be requiring.

There are lots of parks and walking tracks at the back of the apartment block, and one of the walking paths goes directly into the city if you like to cycle (bike not provided but Facebook marketplace is full of them). Otherwise, the train is twenty minutes from the city, which makes it perfect for RMIT city students; Melbourne university students (add another 5 to 10 minute tram ride); and any CITY campus of other unis and language schools.

You would have your own bedroom that is already completely furnished and comes with a double bed, built in wardrobe, shelving, a mirror and drawers. This is a very large bedroom, measuring 5 x metres. The study is smaller but has fit a bed in the past. There is a large, spacious lounge room area with a tv and DVD player. The kitchen is fully equipped. The bathroom, with a shower and toilet, has a laundry attached - it is also quite big and the washing machine is provided.

This is NOT a new apartment building, but because it is old it was built big and roomy. I only moved out a few weeks ago, and it has been freshly painted with a new kitchen.

I don’t live in the apartment but can always make myself available. I will meet you when you arrive, and can help you by showing you around the area if that suits you. But more independent students will need to consider if this option is for them as they will be entirely self-sufficient!
