We are seeking a long term supportive host for a quiet 37 year old gentlemen named Michael. This is a unique opportunity for someone who enjoys meaningful connection and has a warm, caring nature.
Your role as a host is to provide approximately 20 hours per week of companionship and basic support, including meals.
About Michael
Michael is a quiet and empathetic gentlemen who loves to stay active and healthy and likes to connect with the people he is close to. He loves footy, dancing, going to the gym attending social groups and spending time with friends and family.
Michael also has a mild intellectual disability.
The Host Role
- Prompting Michael’s morning and evening routines
- Cooking together or sharing a meal
- Sharing social connection and a friendly chat.
The schedule of host support hours will be collaboratively decided to accommodate work, study, and other commitments you may have.
How will you be supported?
You will be fully supported by a dedicated care team of stakeholders and specialists. Michael’s support worker team will continue to support him both in the home and out in the community.
About YOU!
- Own your own home and be aged around 40-60
- Naturally caring and would enjoy mentoring a someone who wants to build their lifeskills
- Currently living alone or with a partner or an older child and has a spare bedroom in
your home
- Good communicator
- Work casually, part-time or are semi retired
- Located in Doncaster Melbourne
- Able to work well with Michael’s wider care team and family
- Willingness to engage in training and a compliance onboarding process
- A supportive presence who can assist Michael to keep his well-being on track and build lifeskills.
You will be reimbursed by an attractive weekly stipend including a rental contribution per week.
